Most members of the Class of 2018 — 96 percent — said they would choose the KU School of Pharmacy again if they were starting their degree program today.
The KU School of Pharmacy is 7th among all schools of pharmacy in National Institutes of Health funding and has been in the top ten for the past 20 years.
Students give more than 1,000 flu vaccines a year through the school’s annual Operation Immunization event, which provides free flu vaccines to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it.
More than 95% of the students from the 2018 class were either employed or accepted to a residency, fellowship or post-graduate program upon graduation.
The KU School of Pharmacy residency match rate again exceeded the national average in 2018. KU SOP Pharm.D. students matched at a rate of 79 percent, compared with a national rate of 65 percent. Of the 149 members of the Class of 2018, 56 sought a residency program.
Student organizations and clinical rotations provide KU School of Pharmacy students with many opportunities to explore various pharmacy career paths before graduation. The top three career paths of our 2018 graduates were 54% retail pharmacy, 28% hospital pharmacy and 7% ambulatory care.
